The Pause

She had walked unusually long,
taken unusually many steps.
Her feet were unusually tired
and her heart was unusually weary.

But there,
in the middle of the pause,
she found a voice that whispered:

Keep walking dear one.
Take the detours
Don’t rush anymore.
Just follow the rhythm of your own heart
and it will take you where you need to be.

You see your life was never meant to arrive.
You are here to see everything there is to see.
The valley of grief,
the mountain peak of joy,
and every landscape in between.
