March New Moon

The March New Moon is the last new moon before the Spring Equinox, that brings the astrological New Year. We can use this time as a last retreat to create a space in our hearts to envision the future, we wish to see, and tend to the lives we wish to lead.

In the Northen hemisphere, we are in a special in-between season, standing on the threshold between Winter and Spring. The sun has returned to gift us many more hours of light everyday, and we can start to feel snippets of Spring around us, as small plants sprout and birds return.

Like the buds of the willow trees, that welcome our tired Winter hearts with their soft velvety buds, we too can feel our own longings beginning to take shape. New ideas form, visions arrive and urges long to grow and take shape.

But at the same time, we can feel especially tired and in need of nurturing at this time after a long Winter season, that have drained our energetic batteries.

The March New Moon comes to soothe any impatience and confusion as sacred container, that invites us to pace ourselves before the astrological New Year, that arrives with the Spring Equinox.

There are so many promises waiting, so much beauty to unfold, so many miracles to witness, but we do not need to rush to meet them, at this time we are allowed to stay in our cushioned buds, just for a little while longer.

Becoming friends with (your inner) Chaos

The Moons of March are here to help you pay attention to the still soft voice within you. The voice of your ‘psyche’ - your soul, and the March New Moon is here to make sure you pay extra attention to that voice, as the guiding light within you that knows where to go, what to say, when to rest and when to go.

The March New Moon takes place just before the Spring Equinox, which makes it extra powerful. Think of it like a point of pure potential, where anything is possible and the seeds of intention you are planting are exponentially powerful.

In threshold times, the world can feel a bit chaotic. The new starts to grow, and we are saying goodbye to what has been at the same time. Strong emotions can rise together with clear visions about, how we want to go on with our lives and where we wish to create change in the world.

During this New Moon, try to practice softness towards yourself and befriend this time of transition as a natural part of the great cycle of life. For a long time now, during the entire Winter season, we have been cocooned in the darkness, which, as hard as it can be, also has served us as a void of creation. Seeds grow in darkness, and dreams live there. On the inside.

With the approaching Spring season, we can feel the energies start to change, and as great as it is to think of sunshine, flowers and butterflies, it can also stir up confusion and chaos, about who we are, who we were, and who we what to be, as we move forward.

Think of the New Moon as a ‘calm balm’ to whatever thoughts, worries and ideas that might appear in your psyche. Be patient with what is starting to grow, and try to love yourself through the changes.

This New Moon is your invitation to one last retreat of your latest one-year- around-the sun cycle, that prepares you for new life to unfold. Whatever you might have dreamed of, or wished for, or envisioned in the dark void of the Winter season has already slowly started to grow into small seedlings together with the returning light. And as with all new life forms, we have to be extra careful and so, so tender. We have to nurture it with patience and softness - like a mother would tend to her newborn child.

This is not a time to rush head on into the world and your future, but a time to practice patience and tend to your longings. As much as we might feel called to run out into the world to find solutions and inspiration for our dreams and visions to unfold, the March New Moon is the perfect container to cultivate tenderness ad patience for your precious soul seedlings on the inside - just a little while longer.

New Moon blessings to all,

MEDITATION/VISUALisation

If you feel overwhelmed with the building energy of the new season, the expectations, you might have for yourself and your life, or feel like you are going outside yourself to find answers, this meditation is a beautiful practice, which you can do where ever, whenever you need to center yourself.

  1. Close your eyes, and breathe deeply 10 times, as you center into your heart.

  2. Imagine now your heart is a garden and your dreams and longings are seeds, that are starting to grow. Whenever your breathe, you give your dream seeds the love, care and attention, they need to grow. You tend them, and give them attention. Some seeds may be full of optimism and wanting to grow. And some seeds may be tender and sad, as past longings, that didn’t turn out the way, you might have expected. Whatever seeds you might find, as your breathe, and whatever state, you find them in, try not to judge it. Embrace all of them and all the emotions that arise.

  3. Try to get to know your dream seeds a little better. What are their colours? What they need from you?

  4. Before you return from your heart’s garden, know that this place is your own. You don’t need to look for anything outside yourself. You just need to tend to your hearts seeds through your breath. And trust, that with your care, and attention, you will draw anything you need into your life. For now, just focus on growing your garden. When the flowers are ready, the butterflies and bees will come - uninvited.

  5. When you are ready, you can open your eyes and return back to the room or place, you find yourself in. You can return to continue your day.

  6. If any images or messages came up for your during your journey, draw them or note them down, if you feel like it.
